Jacqueline A. Rogers, M.D. is a child and adult psychiatrist who has been in practice since 1974. Her office, FamilyAssociates, Inc is in Beachwood, Ohio.         Dr. Rogers is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio.

       Her years working with children and their families have given her a perspective over 25+ years to observe the changes and pressures on families and the speed of change that affects children. What is expected and anticipated for children now has changed tremendously in less than one generation. Keeping up with this has created a silent but growing stress and "push" on families. Children feel the pressure and often react behaviorally with over-stimulated and fragmented orientation, over-excitement, and many other coping symptoms.
        In addition, an interest in wellness, wholeness and holistic approaches to treatment have led Dr. Rogers into many areas of the personal growth field throughout the country. Understanding the cause of stress and methods of relief have been incorporated into her treatment. A belief that therapy includes healing physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually has become the guide for use of many modalities to help each person grow as well as heal.
       As a result, Dr. Rogers considers herself a "holistic" psychiatrist and is the author of the book Open Minded Heart and the monograph BreathPOWER.
      Dr. Rogers´ experience with additional therapeutic tools and programs commenced in 1978 when she began attending workshops and study groups throughout the U.S. Of the many approaches, from cognitive therapy to Shamanic ritual, she became most interested in the study of the breath and its many effects and uses. A very powerful technique using deep breathing and emotionally evocative music has been adapted into her own version which is called BreathPOWER. Dr. Rogers uses this in her practice and provides programs and workshops of BreathPOWER privately and to various churches, groups and organizations.
        Now this growth is giving new approaches to help children cope with the energy that bombards them. CalmKIDS is a result of Dr. Rogers´ experience and knowledge to provide learning and tools that help calm and focus in the midst of many stimuli and demands that surround children every day.
